Walk 5 Sept

SUNDAY 5th            Carrauntuohill via Brother O’Sheas (A)
This is one of the most popular routes to the summit of Carrauntuohill. It really is for fit trekkers. Aside from it being a 6 hour day, it also includes a lot of scrambling. The climb will take its toll on the legs so the trip down can be hard on the knees. If you are among some of the few who have been doing the B+ 6 hour days and you feel you might like to give it a go and the weather is good on the day then give Jackie a call on 087 9281248 and we can set up an extra leader to follow Harry’s group up to the top. This way you will not have to keep up the pace of the stronger walkers but get there in your own time.
MEETING:          Texaco Garage Killarney 9.15am
LEADER:  Harry Burke 085 1533811

SUNDAY 05th               Torc Mountain, Killarney (C)
This starts along the old Kenmare Road and takes us to the top of Torc Mountain with magnificent views over Killarney & the lakes on a clear day. A windy spot at the top so have your wind-cheaters.
Meeting: Molly Darcy’s car park, 11.00am
Leader: Henry Caulfield 087 9395884
